First, acquiring the power cables and HDMI cables for mobile phones, you for sure if you're buying a cable connection ' Micro ', or a cable connection ' Mini ' ... And just to clarify for all those who may have doubts, is the HTC Evo and Moto Droid X ports MICRO: Micro USB power and Micro HDMI.

As the title of this cable, this is a MICRO (type D) regular HDMI-HDMI cable ... This work with the DROID, EVO is X.

The cable is very adequate in length and appears to be of good quality and construction. The connectors fit comfortably and safely. I tried with my 42 "Panasonic Plasma and it worked perfectly. Passes the signal from the phone to the television. The picture quality may vary depending on a number of other variables, but the cable itself does its job perfectly.

As soon as I plugged in my EVO, notified me that he had made an HDMI connection and said that I could play videos or presentations. It takes a moment for the phone to recognize the connection, so don't freak out if you do not see immediately hooked. It shouldn't take too long though. Once the phone displays connected, make sure the TV is set to the appropriate HDMI signal, if it has more than one. If your TV has an HDMI connection, and you don't change the connection that the signal from your phone, then you will not see anything at all. I don't know if this is the problem of a reviewer was having, but it is a common problem. Don't forget that.

The Evo, HTC will allow you to display pictures and videos only through the app ' gallery ' (this may change later) you can play the video that you recorded on your phone, but only if you have registered in the resolution of 720. If your phone is set to record a lower resolution, so it isn't able to play them on my TV via HDMI. So, if you can see a video that you're looking to play, then you might try posting a video on your mobile phone in the resolution of 720, then play it. I don't know if this is the problem in one of the other reviewers was having, but it is a common problem. Don't forget that. (And Yes, you can view videos that is transferred to your phone as well)

You can also view photos just from your mobile phone as a presentation. You cannot view them individually. But, you can control the presentation from your phone and go forward, backward, pause, etc. ... Same with video.

The quality is not always great, depending on the source video, so don't expect the same kind of HD you get with cable TV or Blu-ray. But it is not a problem with the cable. Is a mixture of video and TV source. Note that HDMI phones is even more recent technology, and you shouldn't expect miracles. But, looking back photos and videos that you made on your mobile phone should be more than sufficient.

I have not tried yet to watch YouTube video through the HDMI output, but I read that sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't. It could work if they are recorded HD video at 720 or more. But, just in case you don't expect.

So, having said that ... The cable is just fine. Save money and get this one for a few dollars. You don't have to pay 29.95 from Sprint or Verizon, and do not have to pay a lot for any special gold plated cable ...

HDMI is a digital signal. It does not suffer of gradation as analog signals. There is neither a signal or is not there. Therefore, until a cable complies with HDMI, there is no difference of HDMI cables. Therefore, any cable compatible with HDMI (type D Micro) will still work, and there is no difference between a cable five dollars and a buck fifty, as long as they are both completely HDMI compatible and well built. Save your money!

In short, if you simply want an easy way to show your family/friends pictures and videos you have on your phone, then this is perfect.

Hope that helps ...
